Another day, another week, another month where it feels like waves of confusion, anger, fear, and worry are about to overwhelm. And where we stand, where we are, we feel like we have to keep strong, to stand above, to soldier through all the weight, the waves, and manage to remain unaffected.
What We Were Taught
Many of us are taught to be strong, be tough, hang in, stay the course regardless. But we are not taught how to release, how to allow, how to be with what is happening and move through with a sense of self that maintains.
We all want to be strong, to be able to handle what comes our way, and to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. How we are taught to do this, however, can lead to the very overwhelm, the very darkness we seek to avoid or overcome unscathed.
What choices are we presented with? How can we handle the environment, the disruption and the upheaval of now? We are all part of what is, and so we can choose our way through.
What Cannot Break
Nothing, no matter what, can break the deepest part of who we are – the soul, the essence of creation and Creator – the love made manifest to see and experience and know how love is created and shared. Because of this, we can understand all we see, as part of what is here, is here to open to us to building, sharing, and being more of the deep, solid love.
You are running, but you aren’t sure what direction is best. So, the first step each day is to pause, to breathe, and to focus so that a clearer path can be visible. Take that moment. Stop, pause, and breathe deeply. Exhale, with intention, your stress, your worry. Inhale, with intention, a feeling of protection, love, and guidance. Nothing more, nothing less. Small steps take you to your new path, so allow and trust.
You are blinded by the darkness that would see us all live in fear. The second step is to refocus, to see what is true, not what is being thrown in front of you as truth. Take a moment, twice a day, to look around you and be aware. See the people: not judging, not wondering, simply understanding they are you in a different form. Fears, hopes, goals, and failures. Simply understand.
The Love That Remains
Your heart is burdened by the weight of responsibility to keep the day whole, at bay, and how you expect based on your experience. There is little to no room left for peace, for hope, for feeling loved.
The last step: once each day, for a moment when you are quiet – in a shower, when waking or falling to sleep, or in a private moment – remember, realize, and reignite awareness that you, the deep you of soul and heart, are loved, because you were created from love, and that cannot be extinguished or dimmed. It can and does only grow.
Done with patience, done with intention, these practices will give you more, will support you, and will light the world around you.
Love, and until next time.
