Creating Peace During Chaos

There is so much happening the last few weeks, I am finding it difficult to share with you in a supportive and clear way.  For myself, and I’m sure many of you, I am intensely feeling the energies and emotions of our cities, our country, and the world at large.

I admit I have struggled the last few weeks with the sense of overwhelm.  While I always strive to practice and share ways to heal and protect, there are times the storms are larger and heavier.  Here in Minneapolis, the storms are particularly heavy right now.

Because of all this, if you are overwhelmed and challenged like me, today I want to share ways to protect, breathe, and clear yourself and find more peace and uplift.

Connections

Most often, the emotions and energies from others around us are like a soft light or a gentle breeze – we can sense or be aware of it if we concentrate or pay attention, but mostly it is instead simply part of the background, unnoticed.  Of course, at times of heightened emotion, or during a crisis of a personal or community nature, the energy of others is significantly increased.  However, since we have mostly learned to habitually not notice this energy, instead of awareness, what we experience is an increase in our own anxiety, depression, worry, or fatigue, leaving us feeling drained, down, or withdrawn.

We are all connected.  All of us are capable of being consciously aware of the energy of those around us, but we mostly haven’t learned to notice, or learned to understand what it is we experience through this connection.  This is not to place blame, but to help you understand both how you are impacted now, and how you can use this to help – yourself and others.

Dealing unconsciously (or even with awareness) with the storms of energy and emotions around us right now is likely leaving you more emotionally exhausted and drained.  Sadly, when we are emotionally exhausted, it diminishes our ability to process, to make clear decisions, to have the energy to do – for ourselves, let alone for others.  So, please allow yourself to be okay right now.

Making Space to Breathe

A key to managing our own energy, our own sense of overwhelm, is to make even a small space to breathe and step away from the tension we are experiencing.  We are all different, each with distinct strengths and skills, so no one way will work for all of us.  From the following, please use what resonates for yourself.  Each involves a bit of imagination.  Critically, understand that your intention is most important in this, not how perfectly you do any of this.

Option One:

While showering, feel the room as if the walls are of steel and lead – keeping out energies you don’t want for the moment.  Then, as the water flows over you, feel it pulling and dissolving the dark fears as well as dissolving the energy of all but your own heart, of your deep soul that knows your strength and love.

Option Two:

Picture yourself (or actually get) under a warm layer of several covers, safe and snug in your bed.  Imagine that surrounding the bed are angels, keeping a loving watch and providing strong protection for you as you rest and experience a sense of peacefulness and rejuvenation.

Option Three:

Imagine (or feel) layers of colored light forming strong bubbles of protection around you.  Within these bubbles, you experience perfect silence, quiet, and peace.  The colors provide you a sense of tingling energy and clearing, and you can see the bubbles neutralizing and detaching any outside energies and worries.

Each of these practices are designed simply to give you a moment to catch your breath, to let your heart slow down a bit, and to stop the noise and urgency so you can start fresh with all you have in your day.

If this is all you do, know you are already doing a lot.  Because we are all connected, when any of us can take that moment to breathe, to release, to rise again, we all gain a little bit of uplift and space, so thank you.

Expanding the Energy

For any of you who want to do more, to give greater support to all those around you, you can.  A beautiful way I’ve learned to do this is by imagining snowfall, filled with an energy of love and healing.  The snow can settle on just on your neighborhood, your city, your state, or more.

This image of using snowfall works well because snow is soft, each flake is unique, and the falling is gentle and deeply quiet – providing a wonderful sense of peace and beauty.  If snow isn’t your thing, consider using loving bright glowing sunshine beams, a gentle rain, or any other visual that serves a similar energy and purpose.

In all of this, it is helpful and very important to remember that you are not alone.  We each are sharing in what we experience.  We each are loved and supported – by those here with us, by our loved ones in spirit, by our angels, and by all the energy of love we are made of.

Love, and until next time.
